Cables to Go offers a variety of different types of high-quality cables. The Cables to Go Pro Series monitor cable is a great way to connect your computer or projector to your screen. This VGA cable can transfer high-resolution video signals and it features shielding to prevent interference. The maximum resolution supported by the Cables to Go Pro Series is lower than others in our lineup, but this is still one of the top ten best VGA cables we reviewed.

The Cables to Go Pro Series VGA cable supports a maximum screen resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels, or UXGA. UXGA is still considered high resolution, but it is lower than some of the other cables we reviewed. However, some monitors or video cards don't need a higher maximum resolution, so this wouldn't be an issue for some people.

Nevertheless, the ability to transmit a high-resolution video signal isn't worth anything if you don't have the proper shielding. Luckily, this VGA cable features plenty of protection against interference. In addition to the foil shielding covering the three internal coax lines, there is also tinned copper braid shielding for extra protection.

Moreover, on each end of the cable you will find a ferrite bead. These cylindrical bumps are made with ferrite, which collects any electromagnetic interference (EMI) or radio frequency interference (RFI) and dissipates it through the ferrite core as small amounts of heat. These beads are placed near the end of the cable to prevent any interference that may come from the device the cable is plugged into.

Finally, as an added bonus, this cable is RoHS compliant. This means that no hazardous materials were used to make this VGA cable. This can give you peace of mind knowing that your computer accessory will not harm the environment and it won't be hazardous to your health.

Length Options:

The Cables to Go Pro Series features a good variety of VGA cable lengths. They can accommodate lengths up to 100 feet that don't require any sort of booster. They offer the following lengths: 3 feet, 6 feet, 10 feet, 20 feet, 25 feet, 30 feet, 35 feet, 50 feet, 75 feet and 100 feet. No matter what your computer-to-monitor setup is like, Cables to Go has you covered.

Help & Support:

On the Cables to Go website you will find a FAQs knowledgebase with a search feature, which can help you find exactly what you're looking for. There's also a glossary to define difficult or unfamiliar terms. We wrote them an email with some questions about the monitor cable, and received an automated response letting us know that they had received our question. The email also said that most inquiries would receive a response within 24 hours. We didn't get that response. However, we then used their live chat feature to ask them questions and got the answers through that route.

Summary:

Cables to Go manufactures a number of different types of cables. Their monitor cable is well constructed, well shielded and will help ensure video signal integrity. It would be better if it supported resolutions higher than 1600 x 1200 pixels, but, for now, that should be a high enough resolution for the majority of computer users. You won't be disappointed by the Cables to Go Pro Series VGA cable.
